Q: What do the digital download sizes mean?

A Web Size image is roughly 640x480 pixels in size, or 0.3 megapixels. This is great for web sharing on social sites like Facebook.

A 1Mpix image is roughly 1 megapixel in size. In English, that means a square 1 megapixel image would be about 1000 pixels wide and 1000 pixels high. This is good for printing wallets, 4 x 6, and 5 x 7 photos.

A 4Mpix image is 4 megapixels. This is a size that allows for quality printing at most reasonable sizes such as 8 x 10 and 16 x 20.

An Original image is the exact image that the photographer has put online. It is the original size of the image, identical in every way. This is great for large poster sizes.

Q: How should I prepare for my photo shoot?

Ladies

  • Arrive 15 minutes early, you don't want to miss out on any of your photography time
  • Wear your makeup the way you do normally, make sure to put on fresh mascara
  • Avoid makeup with SPF or sunscreen, it will make your face too shiny
  • Plan all of your outfit, makeup, and hair changes so that they are as quick as possible to get more camera time, and ultimately, more pictures
  • Vary the style of your outfits, not just dresses, or just tank tops
  • Bring at least one outfit your parents will like
  • Plan your outfits completely (including accessories and shoes) a few days ahead of time
  • Solid colored clothes look best in photos, you can bring patterns and we'll let you know if they'll work
  • Try to avoid too much time in the sun the week before your photo session and try to hide tan lines with your outfits
  • Drink lots of water starting two weeks before your session to keep your skin looking great for your photos
